Welcome!

“Let me Show you a world gone mad!” Those are the words of a fictional character in the novel “Shoes Of The Fisherman”, by Morris West. The speaker is the leader of the Soviet Union, his audience, a soon to be released Bishop who has been imprisoned and isolated for decades. The “World Gone Mad” is every nation pitted against each other, on the verge of a nuclear war. I find myself more and more waking up to that “World Gone Mad” where no one is listening to each other, and through all the noise, no one can hear that voice Elijah speaks about, that still small voice of God. A voice which perhaps asks us what it once asked of Elijah, “Why are you here?”

This little piece of the internet is I hope a place to go to see how to experience hearing “That Still Small Voice” as I believe I have. The subjects of my posts will be varied, but always from a Christian perspective. We will cover such topics as, early church history, prison ministry, homelessness, disabilities, and individuals I have had the honor to learn from.

Church history because I wish to be a Christian as those who freely joined the church during the 200+ years during the persecutions prior to Emperor Constantine issuing the Edict of Milan around 325 A.D. A church who believed in non-violence and proceeded to convert all those actively seeking their destruction. Prison Ministry because I have had the privilege to work with individuals both incarcerated and new released for over 20 years. Homelessness because I had served as a Pastor at an inner city mission serving those who have no home, and after a time, no hope.  Disabilities, well, because I have Cerebral Palsy.

This will be a safe place for you to land each week. It will be a forum for discussion and hopefully for learning and understanding. Maybe together we can eliminate most of the world’s noise and learn to listen to “That Still Small Voice” of God. Maybe even come up with the answer to God’s question “Why are you here?”
